A method for diagnosing and predicting the intrauterine growth retardation of fetus by the functional state of the genome of neutrophilic granulocytes of the peripheral blood of the pregnant women provides for the cytogenetic analysis of neutrophilic granulocytes of the peripheral blood of the pregnant women at the gestation term of 20-22 weeks assessing the chromatization index, the sex chromatin (heteropicnic X chromosome), the pathologic nuclei pointing to the impaired immunogenetic status of the pregnant patient.
