An image processing apparatus is provided. The image processing apparatus comprises a storing unit for storing a lookup table including information on correspondence relation between an occlusion vector and a spherical harmonics (SH) coefficient with respect to at least one point of a 3D object; and a rendering unit for determining a first SH coefficient corresponding to a first occlusion vector associated with a first point of the object by using the lookup table and determining a pixel value of the first point by using the first SH coefficient.
