A method for manufacturing functional PET yarn according to the present invention comprises: step (a) for spinning first yarn and second yarn; and step (b) for winding the second yarn, which has been spun in step (a), in the longitudinal direction of the first yarn to envelop the outer surface of the first yarn, wherein either or both of the first yarn and the second yarn is manufactured by the melt spinning of PET resin including a functional component, and the second yarn is wound in step (b) to be separated from the outer surface of the first yarn so that a hollow layer can be formed between the other surface of the first yarn and the second yarn. The functional PET yarn according to the present invention can minimize the loss of a functional component in yarn-woven fiber by washing or the like in comparison with a traditional technique of directly mixing the powder of the functional component with PET resin melt as the functional PET yarn is manufactured by a method of binding the functional component firmly to the polymer of the PET resin, which is the basic material of the yarn, via a polymer ligand binder. |
