The receiver (1) has rectangular shaped electrical contact layers (3, 5) that are elongated and include longitudinal axes offset angularly relative to each other to minimize facing areas of the electrical contact layers. An intrinsic layer (7) e.g. germanium layer, is placed between the electrical contact layers. The intrinsic layer comprises a frustoconical-shaped stud having a stud axis and a stud cross-section, where dimensions of the contact layers are greater than the stud cross-section in a plane perpendicular to the stud axis. |
