The device has a support (12), and an actuating element e.g. latch (2), movably mounted on an intake valve (1) and on a stop (7) relative to the support. The stop comprises a rod (11) mounted to slide relative to the support and provided with an apex (22) in contact with the actuating element. A return spring (18) of the rod is provided on the actuating element. Locking units of the rod are actuated by an electromagnetic actuator (28) relative to the support, where the locking units include pins (26). The pins have a beveled end in contact with the rod.
