The method involves defining a delay (D1) in opening a solenoid valve (10) associated with a pump (9), and/or a delay (D2) in closing the solenoid valve. A pressure variation related to the delay in the opening of the solenoid valve and/or a pressure variation related to the delay in the closing of the solenoid valve are measured. The delay in the opening of the solenoid valve and/or the delay in the closing of the solenoid valve are adjusted, so as to minimize the measured pressure variations. An independent claim is also included for a synchronization system for synchronizing a system for reducing the pollutants contained in exhaust gas of a car.
