<p>The procedure involves applying estimation model of coding distortion weighted by exponential, to information representing energy measure of digital image. A parameter tuple is searched and the distance between a cloud of points/scatter plots and an entire set of distortion points is minimized, where the scatter plots represents the real distortion measured of a set of image data according to a measure of their energy. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a procedure for selecting a transcoding method for a digital image (b) a procedure for regulating the coding rate/speed of a digital image (c) a modeling device for the distortion generated by the coding of a digital image (d) a device for selecting a transcoding method (e) a device for regulating the coding rate/speed of a digital image (f) a computer program that can be loaded in to programmable device to install steps of modeling procedure.</p> |
