The present invention relates to a residual stress evaluation method and a principal stress evaluation method using an instrumented indentation test. According to an embodiment of the present invention can evaluate residual stress and principle stress of a specimen in an anisotropic stress state through an instrumented indentation test using an anisotropic indenter (knoop indenter).
