The present invention relates to an air conditioning apparatus for a vehicle, and has a purpose for increasing the generation amounts of anions and cations in an ion generator without harmful effects on a human body, thereby efficiently removing odors, bacteria, and fungi from an evaporator without the harmful effects on the human body. According to the present invention to accomplish the purpose, the air conditioning apparatus for a vehicle comprises the ion generator emitting the anions and cations to the inner path of an air conditioning case; multiple mode doors installed in air flow paths in the interior of the vehicle respectively so that the discharge directions and the volumes of air discharged to the interior of the vehicle depending on air discharge modes can be controlled; and a control part controlling the emission amounts of the anions and the cations from the ion generator differently by controlling the output voltage of the ion generator differently according to the types of the air discharge mode.
