The engine has an engine casing (10), an oil pan (20), a crankshaft (30), and an oil pump (40), where the crankshaft is placed partially in front of an oil reserve contained in the oil pan. The oil pump is provided with a rotor integral with the crankshaft, where the oil pump includes a part extending higher than a maximum oil level in the oil pan. A partition wall (50) separates the oil pan and the part of the oil pump extending above the maximum oil level in the oil pan, so that the partition wall retains a portion of oil in contact with the oil pump above the partition wall.
