PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production process capable of producing an aqueous dispersion which contains polyvinylidene fluoride having excellent heat resistance and chemical resistance, the aqueous dispersion having high dispersion stability, and which further allows easy adjustment of crystallinity and melting point of the polyvinylidene fluoride obtained.SOLUTION: The process for producing an aqueous dispersion containing polyvinylidene fluoride, wherein vinylidene fluoride is emulsion polymerized in the presence of a surfactant having surface tension of 55 mN/m or less at an additive amount of 1000 ppm, an organic peroxide, and water to obtain an aqueous dispersion containing polyvinylidene fluoride. The surfactant is at least one kind selected from the group of surfactants represented by (1) R-OCO-C(R)-C(R)-COO-R, (2) (COM)C(R)R, and (3) R-CH(R)-(CH)-R. |
