<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately bind the shoulder to the waist of a seated passenger by a binding force according to a load resistance of each portion.SOLUTION: In a side airbag device 10, a rear bag portion 26 in which an inflator 22 is provided expands and deploys at early timing at a high pressure as compared with a front bag portion 24 in a side airbag 20. It is thereby possible for the front bag portion 24 to softly bind front portions of a breast part C and a belly part B relatively low in load resistance while the rear bag portion 26 binds a shoulder part S and rear portions of the breast part C and the belly part B relatively high in load resistance at the early timing. Furthermore, a lower bag portion 28 binds a waist part L higher in load resistance than the shoulder part S, the breast part C, and the belly part B of a seated passenger P. When an internal pressure of this lower bag portion 28 rises, a check valve 61 restricts a gas flow from the lower bag portion 28 to the rear bag portion 26. As a result, the internal pressure of the lower bag portion 28 is kept high from an initial period of binding until a late period of the binding.</p> |
