PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an acrylic resin for a heat-resistant adhesive film, which makes it possible to produce an acrylic acid resin having a reduced residual amount of a polymerization initiator. ! SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing an acrylic resin by polymerizing a polymerization component [I] containing an alkyl (meth)acrylate-based monomer as a main component in the presence of a polymerization initiator, wherein after conversion of the polymerization component [I] reached 80% or more, heating is carried out, using a polymerization initiator having a ten-hour half-life temperature of 65°C or more, at a temperature higher than the ten-hour half-life temperature of the polymerization initiator for 30 minutes or more. !
