PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester composition which allows easy reduction of the amount of terminal carboxyl groups, an important quality item for hydrolysis resistance, suppresses occurrence of surface defects due to bubbles in film formation and is useful for e.g. the back sheet of solar cells, and to provide its production method. ! SOLUTION: A hydrolysis resistant polyester composition comprises an aromatic dicarboxylic acid as the main acid component and ethylene glycol as the main glycol component, and contains oxalic acid glycol ester (PEO) by an amount of 0.1-5.0 mol% relative to the amount of all acid components and a porous powder having pore sizes of 4Å or greater by an amount of 0.1-5 wt.%. !
