This DC-DC converter is equipped with: first and second switching components that are electrically connected in series between an input terminal and a ground terminal; third and fourth switching components that are electrically connected in series between an output terminal and the ground terminal; an inductor; a drive circuit for turning on/off the first switching component; a bootstrap capacitor that is electrically connected to the drive circuit; and a control circuit. The control circuit switches on/off states of the switching components after a simultaneous-off period during which the serially connected switching components are both sustained in the off state. In addition, the control circuit operates such that the second switching component is sustained in the on state during a charging period in order to charge the bootstrap capacitor while the first switching component is sustained in the off state during a sustaining period that is defined by the simultaneous-off period and the charging period. This DC-DC converter is capable of reducing a current ripple even when charging of the bootstrap capacitor is carried out.
