The differential current monitoring device has a system (30, 32, 34, 36) for detecting arcs, the integration of which according to the invention can considerably reduce the technical outlay needed to monitor the differential current, combined with arc detection, in comparison with a functionally and spatially separate arrangement of both protective measures.
