Provided are an image formation device, method and program which, when using a plurality of dot sizes, are capable of forming an image appropriate for a combination of dot sizes, and exhibiting high flexibility toward a half-tone-processing optimized design. The present invention selects two or more combinations from the combinations of a plurality of types of threshold matrices and one or more pieces of categorization information for categorizing the entire range of the thresholds included in each type of threshold matrix into a plurality of categories. By applying each of the two or more selected combinations, the dot size is determined in each pixel on the basis of two or more imparted code values. |
