PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing apparatus which extends service life of a cleaning web without causing unnecessary transfer on a sheet due to a separation member or the cleaning web.SOLUTION: A fixing apparatus 5 for fixing an image on a sheet by use of rotation bodies (50, 60, 70) in pressure-contact with each other includes: a separation member 80 arranged for any of the rotation bodies to separate the sheet from a surface of the rotation body; and cleaning means 90 for cleaning the rotation body by a web. The separation member 80 and the web are brought into contact with or separated from the rotation body according to the kind of the sheet and margin information of the image. |
