Provided are a fuel cell and a fuel cell stack that enable electrical connectivity to be satisfactorily maintained even with long-term usage. The fuel cell (3) has: a pair of interconnectors ("connectors" below) (12, 13); a single cell (20) having electrode layers (14, 15) formed on both surfaces of an electrolyte layer (2) positioned between the connectors; and current collecting members (18, 19) that are disposed between the electrode layers (14, 15) and the connectors (12, 13), and electrically connect the electrode layers and connectors. The fuel cell (3) is characterized in that: at least one current collecting member (19) corresponding to the electrode layer (15) has a connector contact section (19a) that is in contact with the connector (13), a cell contact section (19b) that is in contact with the electrode layer (15), a linking section (19c) that links the connector contact section and the cell contact section, and a spacer (58) disposed between the contact sections (19a, 19b); and the end of the spacer (58) on the opposite side of the linking section (19c) protrudes to a greater extent than at least one of the end of the cell contact section (19b) on the opposite side of the linking section (19c) and the end of the connector contact section (19a) on the opposite side of the linking section (19c). |
