MUSA PARADISIACA L. EXTRACTS AND FRACTIONS AND USES THEREOF

The present invention relates to the production of Musa paradisiaca L. flower extracts and fractions, to the use thereof and to the development of formulations for producing anti-asthma, anti-inflammatory and immunomodulator medicinal drugs for the treatment of acute and chronic asthma from Musa paradisiaca L. products or flowers. The phytotherapeutic properties were demonstrated by the decrease in bronchoalveolar inflammation (shown by histopathological tests) and systemic inflammation (IgE decrease), and by the decrease in the Th2 response in asthmatic mice.
