The sealing device (100) has a pressure chamber (146) that is separated from two fluid chambers (102,104) through an elastic sealing element (106). The elastic sealing element is arranged on two relatively movable sealing element receptacles (108). An excess pressure is generated in the pressure chamber, based on the pressure in two fluid chambers. The sealing element receptacles are moved away from each other for expansion of the elastic sealing element. The elastic sealing element is brought from an open position to a closed position by generating the excess pressure in the pressure chamber.
