The invention concerns an arrangement for the collection of timber members (2) from a feed transporter (10) to a collection transporter (20) and the formation of layers (3). The invention concerns also a combination arrangement for the delivery of a layer of timber that has been formed to a transfer arrangement and for the stacking of layers to form a timber package. In order to form layers of timber with a pre-determined breadth during motion forwards the collection transporter (20) comprises several sub-transporters (20A, 20B) arranged next to each other that are rotatable with variable speed (V2, V3, V5), a feed transporter (10), which transporters transfer timber members between themselves at the meeting ends, the transport element (22) is equipped with a timber-carrying surface (27A, 27B) that can be inserted from below into the pathway of the feed transporter (10) in such a manner that the timber members supported from below can be transferred from the feed transporter (10) to the collection transporter (20), whereby the feed transporter (10) and the collection transporter (20) are synchronised to rotate with such speeds relative to each other that the gap between the timber members that have been transferred is reduced such that they form a coherent layer (3). |
