PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the brightness of a display image with low resolution while making the display image difficult for a user to visualize in the case of displaying an image by using a liquid crystal panel.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device 1 includes: a light source 20 for irradiating a liquid crystal panel 100 with light in accordance with PWM control; a liquid crystal panel control part 12 for controlling the liquid crystal panel 100 to select a plurality of scanning lines 112 by K(K≥2) units for writing a data signal in a pixel 110 corresponding to the selected scanning lines 112 in an image update period, and to select at least a part of the plurality of scanning lines 112 by one unit for writing the data signal in the pixel corresponding to the selected scanning lines 112 in an image display period posterior to the image update period; and a light source control part 13 for performing the PWM control of the light source 20 such that a duty ratio in a partial period of the image display period is higher than a duty ratio in the other period of the image display period in the case of irradiating the liquid crystal panel 100 with light having predetermined luminance. |
