PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wiper arm which is equipped with energizing means for generating a pressing force pressing a wiper blade against a surface to be wiped, and can be thinned while ensuring a proper pressing force.SOLUTION: A wiper arm 1 is provided with a link mechanism 10 which is rotatably mounted to a retainer 4, and a force of a spring 7 is made to act between an arm head 2 and the retainer 4 through the link mechanism 10. In a normal use state of the wiper arm 1, a horizontal force F from the spring 7 is converted into a vertical force W through the link mechanism 10 to generate a proper moment between the arm head 2 and the retainer 4. When the wiper arm 1 is in a lock back state, the link mechanism 10 works as a toggle mechanism to generate a large holding force for holding the wiper arm 1 in the lock back state. |
