摘要 The purpose of the present invention is to provide a light source device and projector that enable detection of an anomaly such as breakage of an individual optical fiber through measurement of the light quantity of a combined output light beam of light emitted from all optical fibers, instead of measurement of light from individual optical fibers. This light source device combines light emitted from optical fibers of component light sources, each equipped with light-emitting components and driving circuits therefor, and outputs a single output light beam, said light source device being characterized in that the light source device has optical sensors whereby light quantity measurement data correlated with the light quantity of the output light beam can be obtained, and a control circuit selects and controls one of the component light sources such that a selected driving circuit is brought into a state wherein the selected driving circuit applies a specified current to the corresponding light-emitting component, and all the other driving circuits are brought into a state wherein the driving circuits do not apply any current to the corresponding light-emitting components, executes a sequence for obtaining light quantity measurement data at that time while sequentially selecting each of all the component light sources, and detects an anomaly on the basis of a collection of measurement data comprising the obtained light quantity measurement data.
