<p>Embodiments of the present invention disclose a random access method and user equipment, relate to the field of communication, and improve the transmission efficiency and reliability when a UE transmits messages to a base station in a random access procedure. The specific solution is: transmitting a random access preamble sequence to a base station through a first antenna, so that the base station can obtain the antenna number of the user equipment UE according to the received random access preamble sequence; wherein the first antenna is any one of the multiple antennae of the UE; in a preset time threshold, judging whether a random access response transmitted by the base station is received or not; and if the random access response is received, transmitting a layer 2 or layer 3 message to the base station by using the multiple antennae according to a preset rule. The present invention is used in a random access procedure.</p> |
