PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for electrodeposition coating which allow coating with an appropriate film thickness.SOLUTION: An electrodeposition coating apparatus comprises an electrodeposition vessel 2 storing an electrodeposition coating 1, an electrode 11 arranged in the electrodeposition vessel 2, a conveyor 3 for carrying a plurality of to-be-coated objects 4, in order, into the electrodeposition vessel 2, a limit sensor 8 for detecting positions of the objects 4 in the electrodeposition vessel 2, a vehicle type detection disk 13 for identifying types of the objects 4, a rectifier 10 which applies a voltage between the electrode and an object 4 to electrify under electrification conditions according to the type of the object 4, a local electrode 15 which is arranged so as to face a specified part of an object 4 carried into the electrodeposition vessel 2, and a vehicle type signal 14 which modifies electrification conditions for the local electrode 15 according to detection results of the limit switch 8 and identification results of the vehicle type detection disk 13. |
