PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear motor in which a use amount of a magnet does not increase even if total length of a moving distance is long and achieves high speed operation with low power by reducing hysteresis loss. ! SOLUTION: In a linear motor, a needle includes two armature cores and a magnet in rectangular plate shapes, in which a moving direction is set to be a longitudinal direction, inside a coil in a vertical posture. Projections are arranged in parallel along the longitudinal direction on faces confronted with a plate-like part of the stator of the armature core. The two armature cores sandwich the magnet, and the projection of one armature core and the projection of the other armature core are fixed to be arranged in a staggered manner.
