The present invention relates to a system and method for differential warning on the basis of recognition of a pedestrian behavior pattern, and more specifically, to a technology for giving a differential warning to a driver by taking into account the location of a pedestrian at night and the possibility of a collision. According to the present invention, the system for differential warning on the basis of recognition of the pedestrian behavior pattern comprises an image acquisition unit for acquiring images of an obstacle in front of the vehicle; a pedestrian pattern detection unit for detecting patterns of the obstacle from image data received from the image acquisition unit; a pedestrian behavior determining unit for determining whether the obstacle is a pedestrian by comparing the detected pattern of the obstacle with prestored information on pedestrian patterns; a collision danger determining unit for determining the possibility of a collision between the vehicle and the pedestrian, and controlling the execution of a differential warning depending on a level of the determined possibility of a collision; and a differential warning unit for executing a diferential warning under the control of the collision danger determining unit. |
