According to the present invention, provided is an apparatus for transferring molten steel comprising a tundish for accommodating molten steel refined in a steel making process; a preheating burner for preheating the tundish; a submerged nozzle formed in the lower part of the tundish to transfer the molten steel inside the tundish to a continuous casting mold; a thermoscope for measuring the temperature of the submerged nozzle; and a controller for controlling the preheating burner according to the temperature measured from the thermoscope. Moreover, provided is a method for controlling the preheating burner comprising a preheating beginning step for beginning preheating the inside of the tundish by the preheating burner; a temperature measuring step for measuring the temperature of the submerged nozzle by using the thermoscope after preheating is begun and the predetermined time passes; and a control step for controlling the preheating burner according to the measured temperature. |
