Abstract The Spring Lock is manufactured from 3 components as shown in fig 1. No.1 M20 stainless steel nut, No.2 stainless steel 37mm dia 3mm thick backing plate, No.4 8mm stainless steel spring. No.1,2 & 4 components are welded together to form a single component spring lock. No.3 top of spring is ground flat to accept No.2 backing plate. No.5 bottom end of spring (tail of coil) is cut flush and acts as a self digging lock. Fig 2. shows the spring lock in it's expanded position with thru bolt inserted through timber waler and screwed into lock nut. Fig 3. details the compressed dimensions of the spring lock when fully tightened. Fig 4. shows the spring lock in position fully compressed against timber waler. EXPANDED ELEVATION fig 1.
