PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which can anticipate the arrival of the return message, and schedule an available channel so that throughput in the wireless network is not reduced by the wired network protocol congestion control features such as slow start.SOLUTION: A latency period is determined corresponding to a return message to be sent from a responsive node in response to an outgoing message sent from a sender via a base station. A latency manager in a base station processor computes the latency period and stores the value in an allocation table. A scheduler schedules a channel to be available at the end of the latency period indicated in the allocation table before receiving the return message. At approximately the end of the latency period, the return message is received and the scheduler allocates a channel as defined in the allocation table. The scheduled channel is used to transmit the message to or from the corresponding subscriber.
|
