A gradient magnetic field coil unit according to an embodiment is provided with a cylindrical gradient magnetic field coil and a support mechanism. The cylindrical gradient magnetic field coil applies a gradient magnetic field to an imaging region in magnetic resonance imaging. The support mechanism is secured to a plurality of portions of the gradient magnetic field coil, and applies pressing force having a component in the direction of the central axis of a cylindrical magnet to a plurality of portions of the inner edge of a wall constituting the magnet, thereby holding the gradient magnetic field coil in the magnet. Further, a magnetic resonance imaging device according to an embodiment is provided with the gradient magnetic field coil unit, and an imaging system that performs magnetic resonance imaging of a subject using the gradient magnetic field coil unit.
