RIGID AIRSHIP

A rigid airship in which the skin (10) of the hull is made up of panels that are combined into sections between two consecutive ribs. The hull consists of an upper part (8) and a lower part. The side surfaces of the lower part of the hull incline inwards relative to the vertical of the airship and are joined radially to the load-bearing surface of the lower part of the hull. A gondola containing a power unit is mounted on the line of the join between the upper and lower parts of the hull. A cargo hold is situated perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the airship and is provided with a cargo hatch. A horizontal stabilizer with a vertical fin situated on each end thereof is mounted on the tail part of the hull. The invention is intended to improve the stability of a ground-parked airship under the effect of a side wind. (6)
