Disclosed are a mobile terminal and a method for estimating the location of a pedestrian. The mobile terminal includes a communication unit which communicates with a plurality of access points installed at a preset section indoors, a location estimating unit which obtains and stores the 2D location coordinates of a moving pedestrian at a predetermined time interval through communication with the access point, and a correction unit which compares the size of a dispersion at each axis by calculating the average and dispersion of the coordinate values at each axis with regard to the 2D location coordinates and corrects the 2D location coordinates according to the size of the dispersion at each axis.
