The invention relates to a drug delivery device (1) for administering a drug, comprising: a body (2) adapted to retain a cartridge (3) containing a drug, at least one electrical unit (EU) and a port (6) for electrically contacting the electrical unit (EU), an adapter (7) for attaching an injection needle (4) to the drug delivery device (1), a safety mechanism (S) arranged to prevent access to the port (6) whilst an injection needle (4) is in fluid communication with the cartridge (3) and arranged to prevent establishing a fluid communication between an injection needle (4) and the cartridge (3) whilst the port (6) is accessible. |
