A container in accordance with ISO standards enables highly efficient loading and unloading of freight and satisfies the conditions of strength set by the ISO standards. This container (1) in accordance with ISO standards has: a freight room (2) in which freight is loaded; and openings (30) which are provided in the freight room (2) and to which doors are mounted in an openable and closable manner. The openings (30) are provided in at least both side surfaces of the freight room (2) which extend in the longitudinal direction of the freight room (2), and the container (1) has a floor member (8) which supports the floor surface of the freight room (2). The floor member (8) has: side frames (9R, 9L) which form both side surfaces of the floor member (8) which extend in the longitudinal direction; a center cross member (9C) which is mounted so as to extend in the direction perpendicular to the side frames (9R,9L); and top plates (10TR, 10TL) and bottom plates (10BR, 10BL), the top plates and the bottom plates interconnecting the side frames (9R, 9L) of both side surfaces. The floor member (8) is configured so that the cross-sectional area thereof measured parallel to the center cross member (9C) gradually reduces as the floor member (8) extends away from the center cross member (9C).
