PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel compound which is stable in the atmosphere and is suitable as an organic semiconductor material, and to provide a field effect transistor, a method of manufacturing the same, a solar cell, an organic light-emitting element, a composition for an organic thin film, an organic thin film composition of a solar cell, an array for a display device, and a display device.SOLUTION: There are provided: the compound represented by formula (1) (Rto Reach independently represent a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a hydroxyl group, a mercapto group, a nitro group, an amino group, or one of an aromatic group, an alkoxy group, an aromatic oxy group, an alkyl-substituted amino group, an aromatic-substituted amino group, an acyl group, and a C1-C20 aliphatic hydrocarbon group each of which may have a substituent); the field effect transistor provided with an organic semiconductor layer containing the compound; the solar cell provided with an organic semiconductor layer containing the compound; the organic light-emitting element provided with a carrier transport layer containing the compound; and the array for a display device provided with the field effect transistor as a switching element.
