<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption and maintain comfort in relation to an air conditioner, particularly to a thermo-off operation thereof.SOLUTION: An air conditioner includes: an indoor unit; an outdoor unit; a control unit that performs a thermo-off operation for stopping a compressor if a temperature of indoor air falls below a predetermined value during a cooling operation; and an air-conditioning-load sensing unit sensing an air conditioning load. The control unit has a normal mode for terminating thermo-off when a room temperature reaches a thermo-on temperature, and a thermo-off-time extension mode for making longer a thermo-off duration than that of the normal mode in response to the air conditioning load sensed by the air-conditioning-load sensing unit. In the thermo-off-time extension mode, a thermo-off-time extension set room temperature obtained by adding a thermo-off-time extension shift value to a set room temperature during the thermo-off is set as a new set room temperature.</p> |
