<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device that has excellent heat supply performance in accordance with a reduction in nip passage time (duel time) in association with the recent requirements of an increase in speed and a reduction in size of the device, supports increasingly diversifying types of recording materials, has high followability to projections and recesses of paper fiber, and can reduce uneven melting of toner.SOLUTION: A fixing member comprises an elastic layer containing silicone rubber, an inorganic filler, and vapor grown carbon fiber, and when a volume compounding ratio of the inorganic filler in the elastic layer is X(%), and a volume compounding ratio of the vapor grown carbon fiber in the elastic layer is Y(%), relationships of 3X+30Y≤170, 25≤X≤50, and 0.5≤Y≤3.1 are satisfied, and an aspect ratio being a ratio of a fiber length to a fiber diameter of the vapor grown carbon fiber is 50 or more. Thus, the heat permeability and flexibility of the elastic layer can be appropriately controlled, and thereby a fixing device for electrophotography can be provided having high heat supply performance and high followability to projections and recesses of a recording material.</p> |
