There is provided a mobile external battery case for a mobile device, the battery case including a housing, a battery, a processor, a location determining apparatus, a telecommunications apparatus and a recess arranged to receive the mobile device. An advantage is that in a monitoring system for monitoring a plurality of mobile devices registered at a server, the monitoring system comprising the server and the plurality of mobile devices registered at the server, the mobile external battery case provides for longer operational life of the mobile device between charging a battery of the mobile device. A further advantage is that the mobile external battery case provides for tracking of a user by the monitoring system, even if a user forgets their mobile device or if a mobile device becomes inoperable such as through being damaged. |
