The input instrument has a control panel (5) which is held on two spaced apart measuring points (20) at a support (8). A force sensor (7a,7b) is provided at each measuring point for detecting a force (Fa,Fb) which acts at the measuring point between the control panel and the support. An evaluation unit (13) is provided to estimate the location of a touch of the control panel based on the detected forces.
