PURPOSE: A digital image photographing apparatus, a method for controlling the same, and a recording medium storing a program to implement the method are provided to focus on a person after detecting the person when the person can not be recognized, thereby photographing a person centered image. CONSTITUTION: A face recognition unit(129-1) sets a face recognition area through detected face information. When the face recognition fails, a subject detection unit(129-2) detects a subject by motion detection of the subject. A focus control unit(123-3) adjusts focus based on the detected subject under control of a controller(129-4). |
