<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of suppressing the situation in which a recovery toner container gets full, and an image carrier unit cannot be used, which is still available.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes a photoreceptor unit 101, for each color, including an image carrier cleaning blade 121 that removes a transfer residual toner remaining on a photoconductor drum 101a after transfer, and a recovery toner container 111 that recovers the transfer residual toner; and has an intermediate transfer body cleaning blade 127 that removes a transfer residual toner remaining on an intermediate transfer belt. The image forming apparatus forms blade turn-up prevention patterns on a non-image area of the photoconductor drum with a developing roller 101d, and when forming blade turn-up prevention patterns on the intermediate transfer body cleaning blade, selects, as a color to be used for the patterns, a color in which a filling ratio of the recovery toner container is the smallest, which is detected by filling ratio detection means 101c for detecting a ratio of the transfer residual toner recovered into the recovery toner container to the capacity of the recovery toner container.</p> |
