<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photocatalyst composition for water decomposition including photocatalyst particles for decomposing water and capable of decomposing water into hydrogen and/or oxygen in a high efficiency in a visible light or solar beam irradiated state; and a method for manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: The provided photocatalyst composition for water decomposition is obtained by fixing, onto a silica nanostructure (B) having a fibrous, sheet-shaped, or tubular fundamental structure and bearing an aspect ratio of 2 or higher, at least one type of photocatalyst particles (A) selected from the group consisting of (a1) photocatalyst particles capable of decomposing water in a light irradiated state, (a2) photocatalyst particles capable of generating hydrogen from water in a light irradiated state, and (a3) photocatalyst particles capable of generating oxygen from water in a light irradiated state; a method for manufacturing the same is also provided.</p> |
