The present invention relates to a hermetic battery in which the opening portion of a bottomed cylindrical outer packaging can is caulked and sealed with a sealing body through an insulating gasket, and the hermetic battery is characterized as follows. The sealing body comprises: a first plate-like member made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy; and a second plate-like member made of a material harder than that of the first plate-like member and joined to the surface of the first plate-like member on the side of the outside of the battery. At least the outer circumference of the first plate-like member is caulked and sealed, and a thin-wall portion that serves as a deformation source of the sealing body when the pressure inside the battery rises is formed on at least one surface of the caulked and sealed plate-like member. When the pressure inside the battery rises, the deformation of the sealing body causes a gap between the insulating gasket and the sealing body, discharging the gas inside the outer packaging can to the outside of the outer packaging can. |
