Provided is a system for treating exhaust gas from a marine diesel engine, the system being capable of reliably removing particulate matter and sulfur oxides contained in the exhaust gas. A system for treating exhaust gas from a marine diesel engine is provided with: an electric dust collection device (7) which collects PM in the exhaust gas; a seawater scrubber (9) which, by spraying seawater to the exhaust gas from which the PM has been removed by the electric dust collection device, removes SOx from the exhaust gas; an exhaust gas component detection unit (LA3) which detects the components of the exhaust gas having been treated by both the electric dust collection device and the seawater scrubber; a seawater component adjustment unit (9C) which recovers the seawater sprayed by the seawater scrubber and adjusts the components of the seawater; a seawater circulation unit (9D) which returns the seawater to the seawater scrubber, the seawater having the components adjusted by the seawater component adjustment unit; and an exhaust gas treatment control unit which adjusts the operating conditions of both the electric dust collection device and the seawater scrubber so that the components remaining in the exhaust gas and detected by the exhaust gas component detection unit are within a specified range.
