The device has a laser light source (1) which is designed to emit blue light. A diffractive optical element (2) is arranged in the optical path (4) and is connected between laser light source and a converter (3). The diffractive optical element such as sodium-aluminum panel is adapted to generate a light distribution (8) that is concentric. The converter is adapted to convert blue light emitted from laser light source into white light by means of optical conversion.
