PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine generator comprising a function which can be easily applied to a general engine generator and is capable of surely preventing a non-combusted fuel or carbon from being stagnated within a muffler even in an engine adaptive to tertiary vehicle emission control, and an operation method of the engine generator.SOLUTION: While power is supplied to an apparatus (external load) connected to an engine generator, a load rate is calculated from a power generation amount of the generator and on the basis of the calculated load rate, a load coefficient is set of which the value becomes greater as the load rate becomes lower. A light load integration time is calculated on the basis of the set load coefficient and an operation time of the generator. When the calculated light load integration time exceeds a preset reference time for the light load integration time, supply of power to a load for load rate increase which is provided beforehand, is started a temperature of exhaust gas is raised by increasing a load of a diesel engine, and a non-combusted fuel or carbon stagnated within a muffler is burnt and removed by the high-temperature exhaust gas. |
