PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve encoding efficiency in a color difference signal and to reduce address calculation for memory access.SOLUTION: When a block size of orthogonal transformation is 4×4, and a macro block of a luminance signal is constituted of 4×4 pixel block to which four zero or "1" are attached, 4×4 blocks of one color difference signal to which C is attached are made to correspond to the four blocks of the luminance signal. In that case, mv0, mv1, mv2 and mv3 and four pieces of motion vector information exist for the four blocks of the luminance signal. Processing by average is performed by using four pieces of motion vector information. Thus, motion vector information mvc of the color difference signal of one 4×4 block is calculated. The present invention can be applied to an image encoder for encoding H.264/AVC system to a base, for example. |
